Is rexlCloud free?
Yes. Download the launcher and run as many wrappers and servers as your machines can handle.
Which Java version do I need?
The master and the wrappers need Java 25. Servers need Java 21 or newer for the cloud plugin. Each group picks its own Java runtime, so old and new Minecraft versions can run side by side.
Which Minecraft versions are supported?
Paper and Spigot from 1.8.8 to the newest release, Velocity and BungeeCord as proxies, and any server jar you bring yourself, e.g. Minestom.
Do I need a database?
No. New installations use an embedded H2 database. Switch to MySQL or MariaDB whenever you like; the cloud copies the data for you.
Can I run everything on one machine?
Yes. Master and wrapper can run on the same machine; add wrappers on other machines when your network grows.
What happens when I update the master?
Nothing your players notice. The wrappers keep their servers running and reconnect, and the master takes them over again.
And when a wrapper restarts?
By default its servers stop and start again elsewhere. With detachedServers (Linux, tmux) they keep running and the wrapper attaches to them again.
Velocity or BungeeCord?
Velocity with modern forwarding is recommended: servers cannot be joined without the proxy. BungeeCord works with legacy forwarding; firewall the server ports then.
Does it run on Windows?
Master and wrappers run on Windows too, which is handy for development. For production Linux is recommended; detached servers need Linux and tmux.
How do I get updates?
The launcher updates the master, the wrappers and itself; the master updates installed official modules. Restart to apply an update.
Can I write my own extensions?
Yes: modules inside the master, plugins on servers and proxies, or your own Minestom server. See the developer guide and the API docs.
Is the connection between machines secure?
Master and wrappers talk over TLS 1.3, and wrappers pin the master's certificate fingerprint. Template files are encrypted per wrapper.
